Who the St. Louis Area Whip Enthusiasts are

Hello hello! Welcome to the first whip picnic of the 2016 season! What is a whipnic you wonder? Its a whip picnic held in the St Louis area where whip enthusiasts get together and learn how to throw and care for whips! From long bullwhips to the shorter dungeon style whips. All ages are welcome! "Kids too!" All skill levels are welcome! We will have whips there to loan and in most cases, whips for purchase.

Never thrown a whip before? Don't worry. We are a friendly whip group and would be happy to show you how. We will not only teach you how to throw whips. We will also teach you how to make crackers/poppers.

Please keep an eye out here in case of inclement weather. I will make an announcement that morning if there is a cancellation due to bad and or dangerous weather situations.

There may be whips on display that are for sale! Bring some extra cash if you are looking for a whip for your collection. Anyone can bring whips to sell! Sell em if you got them!

When the Whipnics take place

The whipnic starts at 11-ish and ends when the last whip person leaves.

Where the Whipnics are held

We have it at the Creve Coeur Mill park right across from the main entrance. Directions from 270. 270 to Dorsett. Dorsett is the exit off of 270 right below where 270 and 70 cross in earth city. Go west on Dorsett till you reach the end at the T-intersection with Marine. Turn right (north) on Marine. Look for our group at the bottom of the hill on the right as soon as you see the lake! Across from the boat ramps.

Please bring sunglasses or safety glasses to the whipnic if you are interested in learning. I have some larger sized safety glasses to loan but do NOT have the smaller ones for the younger crowd. Thank you!

What to bring?? I will be supplying the hotdogs and the burgers. Bring something to drink for yourself and a side dish or dessert. Otherwise bring a healthy desire to learn how to throw whips and bring some fun!
